Hot Wax

Stripless hot wax shrink wraps around the hair as it dries, making it easier to remove shorter hairs

We apply a pre-waxing oil which creates a barrier between the skin and the wax. This means the wax is only gripping the hair and not being pulled with the skin, resulting in a 50% reduction in sensation.

Hot waxes contain natural and soothing ingredients that nurture the skin, without discomfort or irritation.

Waxing Advice

What should I do BEFORE a wax?

Let the therapist know before your appointment if you have any allergies, health conditions, or are taking any medication, or if you are using any topical lotions which are not compatible with waxing.

Make sure areas to be waxed are clean of any products.

Check growth is the right length to be waxed. We recommend about 1cm for the best results. Avoid trimming hairs too short because the wax won‘t grip the hair.

Don‘t use sunbeds two days before or after a waxing treatment because sunbeds can cause skin sensitivity, making your skin go red, inflamed or scabby. Just like exfoliation, waxing removes dead skin cells. Using a sunbed shortly after your treatment can cause burns and skin pigmentation. You may need to hold off more than 48 hours for waxing or tanning if you‘re still pink or feeling sensitive.

Don‘t consume alcohol as it will tighten the pores, which can lead to a painful waxing experience.

Be aware of your menstrual cycle as women tend to be more sensitive during this time.

Lightly exfoliate. Getting rid of dead skin cells before your appointment will cut the sensitivity, keeping your skin healthier and help keep ingrown hair away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Avoid tight or restrictive clothing. We will provide you with disposable bikini knickers.

First of all, relax. It can be a daunting experience, especially the first time. Feeling nervous, anxious or embarrassed is not uncommon. Just remember that your therapist is professionally trained and knows exactly what she‘s doing. She‘ll do her best to put you at ease and make the whole experience as pleasant and pain-free as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, don‘t hesitate to ask. And just remember, it‘ll be worth it!

It‘s really not as bad as you think. We have great quality wax and our staff are trained to wax fast and communicate with you every step of the way in how to position your body or stretch your skin to minimise pain.

We recommend 4-6 weeks depending on your growth.

DON‘T pick at it, squeeze it or try to tweeze it out because you will bruise or scar yourself. Keep gently exfoliating.

Many women worry that it is dangerous to have waxing done whilst pregnant, but this is not the case at all. Aside from the fact that it may hurt a little more than usual because your hormones are often going nuts, it is perfectly fine to continue your monthly hair maintenance. Our staff are all well trained in dealing with these sensitivities and will ensure that you are well looked after.

If you‘re wearing a tampon, it‘s fine. Just make sure everything is in place, and you are nice and clean.
